About Me
-
Describe Yourself:I'm a journalist married to a Navy chaplain who served with the Marines in Afghanistan and Iraq. I travel a lot and my favorite trip was when I drove across the country with my German shepherd in an old Corvette. I'm a regular contributor to the Washington Post Magazine and I've written two books about what it's like to send the one you love to war: "Driving by Moonlight" and "While They're at War: The True Story of American Families on the Homefront." There's more about me at www.kristinhenderson.com, along with resources for military families and civilians who want to learn more about military issues. You can also email me from there. The photo of me was taken by Barry Goldstein. See more of his work at www.bgoldstein.net.
